Mace Construct will be renamed Forco, with the new identity taking effect after the business continues trading under its current name until the New Year.
The change follows the March separation of Mace Construct and Mace Consult into two separate businesses, under an agreement that Mace Consult would retain the Mace brand. The contractor said the Forco name will be introduced alongside a new corporate strategy and productivity targets running through to 2030, after 35 years of trading as Mace Construct.
The company described the new name as “short, impactful and easy to pronounce.”
Mark Reynolds, Executive Chair, said the name represented a commitment to being “the UK's most forward-thinking contractor, and its most productive by 2030.” He said the culture, values and people that had underpinned the business would not change, and that clients could expect the same teams, the same commitment to delivery and the same drive to create places and infrastructure that last.
Under the arrangement, the Mace brand stays with the consultancy business, while the contracting arm moves to a name it says reflects a forward-looking positioning and supports its productivity ambitions through to 2030. Client relationships and delivery teams are to continue under the new identity, according to the company.
